With over a decade of experience in the field of occupational therapy, Lina is a dedicated and skilled professional committed to enhancing the lives of individuals through personalized therapeutic interventions. Specializing in community-based care, Lina has extensive experience working with diverse populations, including adults diagnosed with neurological conditions, acquired brain injuries, developmental delays, and mobility impairments.

Education and Early Career
​
Lina completed an Honours Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences from McMaster University in 2010, where she consistently excelled and earned a place on the Deans' Honours List. During this time, she fostered a strong foundation in biology, while also exploring various disciplines such as kinesiology, psychology, anatomy, biochemistry, anthropology, and physiology.

After graduation, Lina gained valuable research experience as a research assistant at the Population Health Research Institute for two years. Working on studies focused on pharmacological treatments for individuals with cardiovascular diseases, she honed her analytical skills and developed a keen interest in evidence-based practice.

Professional Achievements and Expertise
​
Eager to further her knowledge and practical skills, Lina pursued a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Western University, which she successfully completed in 2014. Armed with the latest research and comprehensive training, she ventured into the field and joined CBI Home Health in 2015 as a community Occupational Therapist.
​
At CBI, Lina specialized in conducting home safety assessments, cognitive and functional evaluations, and mobility assessments. She also played an instrumental role in educating Personal Support Workers (PSWs) on safe patient handling techniques.
Additionally, Lina provided recommendations for adaptive equipment and home modifications to enhance home accessibility for clients with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, stroke, acquired brain injury, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, catastrophic injuries from motor vehicle accidents, congenital disorders, and other conditions.

Contributing to Education and Growth

Recognized for her expertise and passion for occupational therapy, Lina served as a preceptor for graduate students at McMaster University from May 2018 to July 2022. In this role, she mentored and guided aspiring therapists, imparting essential skills and knowledge necessary for effective patient care. Lina's dedication to fostering the next generation of occupational therapists exemplifies her commitment to the field's advancement.

Driven by a desire to provide personalized care, Lina established her own private practice in March 2021. This venture focuses on assessing mobility needs and prescribing appropriate assistive devices such as wheelchairs and walkers.
